With the GeForce RTX 40 Series Laptops, NVIDIA delivers the Ada Lovelace architecture, GeForce RTX 4090 and 4080 laptop GPUs, and 5th-gen Max-Q technologies, increasing performance and efficiency. Powered by 13th Gen Intel® Core™ processors and RTX 4080 and 4090 laptop GPUs, these laptops run up to three times more efficiently than previous-gen NVIDIA flagship laptops, enabling you to game at higher detail and speeds, as well as power through creative workloads in a shorter amount of time.

NVIDIA Ada Lovelace Architecture

The NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture can deliver up to three times more efficiency than its predecessors. For livestreamers, encoding efficiency is boosted by the AV1 encoders, allowing 4K60 at 10 Mb/s streams, compared to H.264 users, who require up to 25 Mb/s to get 4K. Video editors also get efficiency gains, thanks to the NVENC dual AV1 encoders found in GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 laptop GPUs, which use both encoders in parallel to export videos at up to two times faster.

Gamers and creators will also benefit from several Ada technologies, such as 3rd-Gen Ray Tracing Cores, which accelerate ray-traced game performance and 3D renders, and 4th-Gen Tensor cores, which accelerate AI twice as fast as the previous generation.

5th-Gen Max-Q Technologies

5th-Gen Max-Q technologies enhance efficiency and further accelerate gaming performance. Ada High Efficiency On-Chip Memory vastly improves power efficiency, thanks to the GPU’s redesigned memory, with double the bandwidth, more than ten times the capacity, and improved clock gating. Tri-Speed Memory Control dynamically improves power efficiency when the system is idle or using basic apps. GPU efficiency is boosted by Ultra Low Voltage GDDR6.

Additionally, NVIDIA DLSS 3 has been included in Max-Q technologies; Whisper Mode and Battery Boost 2.0. Whisper Mode improves acoustics while Battery Boost 2.0 helps extend battery life. DLSS 3 allows you to play your favorite PC games efficiently, even on battery power.

While the RTX 4080 and 4090 laptop GPUs certainly help improve gaming on your laptop, they also help with creative and STEM apps. With exclusive NVIDIA software, such as Omniverse, Canvas, Broadcast, and the soon-to-be-released RTX Remix, as well as more than 110 RTX-accelerated apps, GeForce RTX users can take full advantage of their laptops.

Use the GeForce RTX 40 Series laptop GPUs to power NVIDIA Omniverse creative workflows. 3D creators can take advantage of generative AI tools and experimental plugins, including an alpha Blender release with AI integrations. Built on Omniverse, NVIDIA RTX Remix, which will enter early access soon, combines AI, software, and hardware to provide an easy way to mod classic games.

NVIDIA Broadcast adds Eye Contact, which utilizes AI to make it appear as if you’re looking directly at the camera, even when you’re not, for more engaging video chats. NVIDIA Canvas can quickly turn basic brushstrokes into photorealistic landscapes. Canvas 360 will turn vistas into spherical maps that can be exported into an app, such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or Blender, allowing for better environments to set ambient lighting for your scenes.

If you want to accelerate your gameplay and creative workflow, the GeForce RTX 4080 and 4090 laptops will be available starting February 8, from NVIDIA partners, including ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Razer, and more. NVIDIA also announced that GeForce RTX 4070, 4060, and 4050 laptops could come as soon as February 22, so make sure to check back for more news on those computers.
