Available in 1-, 2-, 3-, and 4TB capacities, the new My Passport for Mac USB 3.0 Portable Hard Drive from WD is more than just a plain old portable hard drive. This drive has been reimagined inside and out. It features plug-and-play connectivity via the USB 3.0 interface, support for Time Machine backups, enhanced data security, and more. The external housing of the drive has undergone a complete redesign from previous versions of WDs My Passport drives and features a sleek, shiny, black enclosure to complement your Mac.

The My Passport for Mac comes formatted HFS+ Journaled for Mac OS X Mountain Lion, Mavericks, Yosemite, and El Capitan. Simply connect the My Passport to begin dragging and dropping files right to the drive. With Apple Time Machine, you can schedule backups to run when it’s convenient to protect important files including photos, documents, music, and more. For added peace of mind, this WD drive features built-in 256-bit AES encryption along with WD Security software. Securing the drive is simple, just turn on password protection and set your desired password. Whether at home or out and about, the compact, portable My Passport for Mac is designed to meet your storage needs.

There is no way to download photos from an iPhone directly to this drive.  WD does make a drive called the WD Passport wireless where this feature is enabled.  Please see the ilnk below.
