Samsung Adds OLED Models to its Odyssey Gaming Monitor Lineup

Debuting at CES 2024, Samsung announced the addition of three new Odyssey OLED gaming monitors to its lineup. Now equipped with OLED panels, these new Odyssey models provide improved picture quality, thanks to better contrast, higher brightness, and wider color range. Available in three different sizes, including two flat OLED models for the first time in the Odyssey lineup, you’ll be able to enjoy an immersive experience, whether you’re watching a movie or playing your favorite game.

The Odyssey OLED G9 is a 49" ultrawide monitor with 5120 x 1440 resolution and 32:9 aspect ratio. Meanwhile, the Odyssey OLED G8 sports a 32" monitor with 4K 3840 x 2160 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Both monitors feature 240 Hz refresh rates. Last, the Odyssey OLED G6 has a 27" monitor with 2560 x 1440 resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. It has a higher refresh rate, clocking 360 Hz. All three monitors offer 0.03 ms GTG response times.

The Odyssey OLED G9 and G8 now offer Multi Control, which allows you to transfer images and text seamlessly between your Samsung monitor and other Samsung devices, such as a tablet or phone. Also included is Samsung SmartThings Hub, which allows you to connect to various IoT devices. Both the G9 and G8 are equipped with the Samsung Smart TV platform and Samsung Gaming Hub, providing access to streaming and cloud gaming services.

All three models will feature OLED Glare-Free technology, which minimizes light reflection, so gamers can play with consistent brightness and color in nearly any lighting environment. With VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support, these monitors deliver high-res picture quality, vivid colors, and smooth, low-latency HDR gameplay. The monitors provide two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub, and a DisplayPort 1.4 input. The height adjustable stand has tilt, swivel, and pivot support, or you can opt for a monitor arm or wall mount, thanks to its VESA compatibility. Core Lighting+ provides a more immersive experience by emitting ambient light at the back of the monitor. And with the lighting circle is now four times slimmer than the previous model; it fits seamlessly into the 3.9mm metal bezel.
