Following the success of the Cintiq 16, Wacom is back with the Cintiq 22. Measuring 22.4 x 14.1" and larger than its predecessor, the Cintiq 22 is ideal for casual and professional users alike, who wish to work with a larger canvas. Aside from a few slight differences in size, viewing angles, connectivity—and, of course, power consumption—these drawing tablets feature roughly the same specs.
The Cintiq 22’s 21.5" display has 1920 x 1080 Full HD resolution, complete with vibrant color reproduction and wide 178-degree viewing angles. Also, instead of the 3-in-1 cable solution used with the Cintiq 16, the Cintiq 22 has separate connectivity ports, most likely due to its larger size. Comfort is another big factor for creative users, especially when they’re putting in extra hours, and Wacom hasn’t missed a beat. Rather than a built-in stand, the Cintiq 22 comes with its own adjustable one.
From there on, the Cintiq 22 is identical to its smaller brother. The display covers 72% of the NTSC color gamut, has a 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and offers a wide range of color-temperature settings from 5000K to 9300K with an additional custom option. Combined, these features help users with color-sensitive work whether they’re creating drawing, designing web pages, and more. The second accessory that’s included with the Cintiq 22 is the Wacom Pro Pen 2. This stylus features 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity, which lets it pick up even the slightest stroke, and helps eliminate parallax, pooling, and rippling. When it’s not in use, it can be placed in the included pen holder, which also houses three replacement nibs.
