Sony is expanding its BRAVIA Theater and TV portfolios with the addition of several new subs, speakers, and soundbars, as well as a new midrange screen, the BRAVIA 3 II.
New BRAVIA Theater Soundbars for 2026
The expanded roster of BRAVIA Theater home audio products includes two new subs: the BRAVIA Theater Bar 7 and BRAVIA Theater Bar 5.
The Bar 7 is the more premium of the two soundbars (yet still surprisingly compact). It features nine speaker units, including dedicated upfiring speakers for height and side firing speakers for horizontal movement—enabling a noticeably wider sound field.
The Bar 7 also utilizes Sony's proprietary “360 Spatial Sound Mapping” technology, which delivers room-calibrated audio for an immersive, cinema-style surround sound from a single soundbar.
The BRAVIA Theater Bar 5 is a value-friendly 3.1-channel speaker system that comes with a wireless subwoofer designed to deliver powerful bass performance and clear dialogue. Advanced audio technologies like S-Force PRO Front Surround, Vertical Surround Engine, and Sony's unique “upmixer” technology are all onboard, allowing the Bar 5 to deliver an enveloping, three-dimensional surround sound for TV and movies.
Both the Bar 7 and Bar 5 support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X audio formats. Likewise, both soundbars can be paired with compatible BRAVIA TVs and controlled via the TV menu.
BRAVIA Theater Subs and Surrounds
The expanded BRAVIA Theater home audio lineup also features three new subwoofers—the BRAVIA Theater Sub 9, Sub 8, and Sub 7—and new rear speaker, the BRAVIA Theater Rear 9. The new speakers and subs promise to add deep bass and immersive surround sound that perfectly complements compatible BRAVIA Theater units.
The BRAVIA Theater Sub 9 is the most premium sub of the group, featuring opposing, vibration-canceling 200mm drivers that reduce distortion and deliver powerful, super deep bass that extends into ultra-low frequencies.
The BRAVIA Theater Rear 9 speakers feature large 80mm upfiring speakers that elevate rear-channel performance and enhance the immersive surround sound experience by creating multiple phantom speakers.
Value-Friendly BRAVIA 3 II LED TV Announced
Sony also expanded its BRAVIA TV lineup with the BRAVIA 3 II, a midrange 4K TV available in screen sizes ranging from 43” to 100”. Despite its “midrange” moniker, the BRAVIA 3 II is packed with a ton of premium features that deliver a lot of bang for a reasonable amount of buck.
Included in the BRAVIA 3 II’s notable list of features is an XR Processor—which is typically reserved for Sony’s more premium TVs—and XR Triluminos Pro, Sony’s proprietary color technology that enables the natural color reproduction and vivid picture detail Sony screens are known for.
Additional features include four HDMI 2.1 ports that allow the BRAVIA 3 II to accommodate all of your compatible peripherals and accessories, including the new BRAVIA Theater speakers and soundbars.
The BRAVIA 3 II supports 4K at 120 Hz, as well as Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. The BRAVIA 3 II also features Google TV with Gemini, which allows you to ask questions, operate the TV, and personalize your viewing experience via a conversational interface.
Preorders for the new BRAVIA Theater lineup and the BRAVIA 3 II TV begin April 6, with units scheduled to ship later in May.
