Smart locks offer an alternative to the traditional lock. The traditional lock needs keys. Keys can get lost or stolen, and locks can be picked. Smart locks provide keyless entry, which means only people with access can enter the locked space.
Expanding its keyless entry solutions, Yale has released three models of the Real Living Assure Lock Deadbolt. Up first is the Real Living Assure Lock Push Button Deadbolt. As the name implies, this model is equipped with a push button keypad. The keypad is backlit and allows authorized users to unlock the door. It is available in oil-rubbed bronze, polished brass, and satin nickel.
The next model is the Real Living Assure Lock SL Deadbolt. This model is equipped with a touchscreen keypad for code entry. It is available in oil-rubbed bronze, polished brass, and satin nickel.
The final model is the Real Living Assure Lock Touchscreen Deadbolt. This model also features a backlit capacitive touchscreen keypad, but also features a traditional keyed tumbler and two keys for those who prefer a traditional entry method. Like the two previous models, it is also available in oil-rubbed bronze, polished brass, and satin nickel.
All three models are bundled with a Connected by August module, a DoorSense sensor that lets you know whether your door is locked, unlocked, open, or closed and a Wi-Fi bridge that enables you to lock and unlock the deadbolt from anywhere via the August app for iOS and Android. One-touch locking enables locking with a simple tap.
These smart locks integrate seamlessly with home automation and alarm systems via an optional Yale Network Module that is available separately (using Z-Wave Plus, Zigbee, and iM1 for HomeKit). When used with a Yale Network Module, they can recognize up to 250 unique passwords. Voice control via Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri is supported. Four AA batteries are included for operation. The battery cover is tamper resistant. All three deadbolts can be installed on a standard door with just a screwdriver.
