Orbiter

With its modular design, the ARRI Orbiter fixture has the versatility to work as a soft light, a punchier Fresnel-type light, or a PAR fixture. Introduced in 2019, the Orbiter system has now been completely redesigned. Recent lamp head options include open face, dome, and softbox choices with projection and additional options in the pipeline. Orbiter luminaires are available as sets and as simple fixtures with separately available accessories. Shape and soften your Orbiter’s output using the variety of Open Face Optics, Chimeras, and Domes, available at B&H.

Spectra Light Engine

The Orbiter’s compact, six-color Spectra light engine provides highly accurate colors across a wide color gamut with higher color rendition across the entire CCT range of 2000 to 20,000K. Its unprecedented brightness level is achieved using more than 200 red, green, blue, amber, cyan, and lime LEDs that are arranged precisely across the color beam field.

To match your location sources accurately, the Orbiter incorporates a color sensor that reads the ambient color surrounding the fixture. After getting a reading you can daisy-chain your lead fixture to other Orbiters or use the X/Y coordinates on additional luminaires.

Color Control

The Orbiter’s eight modes include a Color Sensor Mode—which enables you to replicate ambient light—CCT, RGBACL/RGBW, HSI, X/Y Coordinates, Source Matching, Gel Selection, and Effects.

Control Panel

The removable Orbiter Control Panel can be accessed at the fixture or quickly detached for comfortable handheld use with a 16.4 or 49.2' cable. Designed with a simplified menu structure, the control panel provides easy operation quickly.

Connectivity

Use the dual EtherCON ports with Art-Net 4, sACN, and TCP/IP support, the DMX input and output ports, or the built-in LumenRadio CRMX function to provide dynamic control and network operation for multiple Orbiter luminaires. A sync port enables you to sync the Orbiter with motion picture cameras for frame-accurate flashing.

Applications

The Orbiter’s changeable optics position it as a versatile solution for location shoots, studio lighting grids, live broadcast use, still photography, corporate productions, theater productions, and LED Volume walls.

Design

Each modular optic for the Orbiter uses the QLM (Quick Lighting Mount) that, like a giant ARRI PL lens mount, features a twisting, locking mechanism that lets you attach an optic in seconds. This simple, tool-less design lets you easily transform the Orbiter with the features of a variety of lighting fixtures like a soft light, Fresnel, etc.

Go for a package like this Orbiter Combination Set if you want a tricked-out fixture with a controller, yoke, power cable, barndoors, and three lenses (15, 30, 60°).

To use the Orbiter as an ultra-sophisticated China ball, add a dome like the 39" DoPchoice Large Dome or smaller 20" Chimera Dome M to your fixture to create a soft, omnidirectional output.

Get gobo projections, spot lights, and precise shutter cuts using the Orbiter 25° and 35° Projection Optics. Orbiter projection optics create spots that are even and free of hot-spots and color aberration.

The Orbiter-compatible barn doors are the same as those used on the L5-C 5" LED Fresnel and 650W Tungsten Fresnel, enabling you to make use of your existing stock.

SkyPanels

Seen glowing overhead from many a studio grid, the SkyPanel series of lights provide a bright, soft output. The fully tunable, ultra-bright SkyPanel “C” fixtures output light in a range from 2800-10,000K. Color rendition is excellent over the entire range and full +/- green correction is available with the twist of a knob.

L-Series LED Fresnels

These 21st century versions of Fresnel fixtures combine the cooler mechanics of an LED light with the magnified power of traditional, concentric Fresnel lamp lenses. The L-Series of LED Fresnels include L5-C, L7-C, and L10-C LED Fresnel kits with variable 2800-10,000K color control.
