Renowned lighting manufacturer Hobolite just unveiled its latest innovation, the Iris Bi-Color LED Light. Combining essential lighting features and slick, retro-inspired aesthetics into a pocket-sized, weather-resistant form factor, the Iris is a versatile, travel-friendly LED that’s certain to be a hit with content creators, influencers, and on-the-go shooters.
The Iris hits all the standard benchmarks of a modern LED light, with an adjustable CCT from 2700K to 6500K, dimming control from 0% to 100%, 300 lumens of output, and an impressive CRI and TLCI of 96. A small LCD screen displays brightness and color temperature, both of which can be adjusted using a knurled control knob on the side of the light or via the Hobolite app.
The internal battery is rechargeable via USB-C and should get you at least two hours when brightness is set to 100% and double that at half the power. The rim of the light includes a magnetic mount for adding accessories, as well as a ¼-20” thread on the bottom for attaching the light to cameras, articulating arms, clamps, and stands. The whole package comes in at less than a pound and is rated IP54 so you don’t have to worry about dust or getting splashed.
In addition to the Iris LED, both kits come with a USB-C charging cable, protective pouch, and two lighting accessories: an adjustable lens and frosted dome. The adjustable lens allows users to set the beam angle between 20° spot and 45° flood with around six times more intensity. The frosted dome accessory helps diffuse the light and soften shadows. Both accessories can be attached to the light using the Iris’s easy-to-use magnetic mount system.
If you opt for the Creator Kit, you’ll also get a set of four colored gel filters, a magic lens, a Fresnel lens, and an aperture ring, all of which can be attached to the light using the magnetic mount system.
The Iris is available in two configurations. Choose between the Standard Kit and pricier, accessory-packed Creator Kit.
