If you’re looking to build a lighting rig that can pack a major punch, Nanlux has a new option worth considering. The bi-color Matrix 2500B and RGB-capable 2500C are 2500W modular multi-source spotlights built for use in large lighting arrays. These four-head integrated fixtures support multi-unit set-ups and have IP66-rated magnesium alloy housing for weather protection. They’re available by themselves or with a hard-shell flight case.
The Nanlux 2500B has the brand’s Nebula B4 light engine, resulting in a CCT range of 2700K to 6500K with ±80° green/magenta adjustment. The 2500C takes advantage of the cutting-edge Nebula C8 light engine for a massive CCT range of 1000K to 20,000K with ±200° green/magenta adjustment. The 2500C has the same CCT and effects modes as the 2500B, then adds in HSI, HSIW, RGBW, XY Coordinates, and gel modes. The 2500B has an 80° beam angle while the 2500C’s is 70°, and both have a 125° field angle.
The lights match up well physically, measuring 15.75 × 15.75 × 9.25” and coming in at 37.48 lb for the 2500C and 40.79 lb for the 2500C. The 2500B has a slightly higher output than the 2500C, but both have CRI and TLCI scores of 98, as well as support for DMX, CRMX, and Art-Net/sACN. Expect 0.1% dimming control and four fan modes. Included with the light is an AC power cable, yoke, and a FL MT25 Motorized Fresnel Lens with a 16 to 48° zoom range.
Each of the four lamp heads in the fixture can be controlled individually, and Nanlux is also selling a Four Light Frame to combine four Matrix units into a 10,000W array with 16 lamps. A Dual-Head Yoke is also coming soon. The front-to-rear airflow system in the 2500B and 2500C remains unobstructed even in a frame or yoke and helps the units stay cool during long shoot days.
