Shure is rolling out three new tools that broadcast engineers, audio pros, and live event crews will want to have on their radar: the DCA901 Broadcast Microphone Array, the A901-JMR Windjammer, and the SB900C Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery. Each one is designed to tackle real-world challenges—from capturing immersive sound with fewer mics, to cutting wind noise outdoors, to powering wireless gear longer and more sustainably.
DCA901 Broadcast Microphone Array: Deploy Less, Capture More
The DCA901 is the world’s first digital array microphone built specifically for broadcast, delivering immersive, natural sound that draws audiences closer to the action. By combining multiple pickup lobes into one compact, low-profile device, the DCA901 eliminates the need for complex mic setups while offering broadcast engineers precise control and streamlined integration.
With digitally steerable lobes, engineers can “aim” pickup zones virtually to capture only the sound they want—whether it’s kinetic action on the court or the focused discussion of a studio panel—while rejecting unwanted noise. A single Dante or AES67 connection provides up to eight isolated channels, complete with onboard DSP for EQ, compression, delay, and automixing. This efficiency speeds up workflows and makes the DCA901 ideal for REMI and cloud-based production environments.

Compact, all-black, and VESA-mountable, the DCA901 blends into any setting, from arenas to studios, without interfering with camera sightlines. Supporting both stereo and 5.1 surround formats, it provides flexibility for legacy broadcast setups and next-generation immersive workflows alike.
A901-JMR Windjammer: Essential Outdoor Accessory
To extend the DCA901’s performance into outdoor environments, Shure has also released the A901-JMR Windjammer. Purpose-built for the array microphone, the A901-JMR reduces wind noise by up to 10 dB while maintaining clear, consistent capture. Its drawstring closure ensures a secure fit, making it indispensable for stadium sports, outdoor panels, and live event coverage where environmental noise is a factor.
SB900C Lithium-Ion Battery: More Power, Longer Life
For wireless users, Shure introduces the SB900C, a next-generation rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed to replace the SB900B. With 40% more capacity, extended runtimes, and support for more charge cycles, the SB900C delivers superior reliability across Shure’s flagship wireless lines including Axient Digital, ULX-D, QLX-D, and PSM systems.
Rated at 3.6V/1700mAh, the SB900C provides runtimes of up to 11.5 hours in ULX-D transmitters and over 10 hours in most Axient Digital devices, while fully charging in 3 hours (50% in just 1 hour). Beyond performance, it’s a sustainable power solution—each SB900C replaces more than 1,000 AA batteries over its lifetime, reducing waste without compromising professional standards. It is fully compatible with Shure charging systems including the SBC200, SBC210, SBC220, SBC800, and SBRC.
Built for Broadcast, Ready for Anything
With the launch of the DCA901, A901-JMR, and SB900C, Shure is putting new creative and practical tools in the hands of professionals. From immersive capture and noise control to reliable, sustainable power, these releases give engineers the flexibility and confidence to deliver consistent results across studios, stadiums, and live productions.
