Neumann is announcing an expansion to their monitor portfolio with five new DSP subwoofers designed specifically for medium and large rooms. Providing expanded options for both stereo and multichannel setups, these new options now allow Neumann to offer DSP-controlled subs in three sizes for small, medium, or large rooms used for music production, editing, postproduction, scoring, mixing, and mastering.
First up is the KH 805 II, the bigger brother of the KH 750 DSP. Building upon the success of the 750 DSP, the KH 805 II is a medium-sized sub for stereo systems. With double the output of the KH 750 DSP, the 805 II provides much more headroom and low-end dominance without sacrificing transparency. This sub is ideal for use with mid-sized KH Line studio monitors such as the KH 150 and KH 310.
Featuring the same acoustic design and performance as the KH 805 II, the KH 810 II adds multichannel bass management (up to 7.1.4 surround), making it ideal for immersive production environments. The KH 810 II also complements the KH 150 and 310 speakers well but can be used simply to upgrade existing setups to surround or immersive configurations.
The KH 870 II sports twice the output of the 810 II, taking its place as the new flagship subwoofer in Neumann's KH series. It sports the same 7.1.4 bass management functionality as the KH 810 II and is designed specifically with large rooms in mind, where optimal headroom and precision are required. The KH 870 II is powerful enough for KH Line studio monitors like the KH 420, and thanks to its multichannel features, it is the ideal upgrade for immersive audio.
Finally, AoIP integration of your entire system is now easier than ever with the KH 810 II AES67 and KH 870 II AES67. These models offer the same acoustic performance as their namesakes but add twelve AES67 input channels at your disposal, ready to be reproduced by the subwoofer itself, and up to 11 studio monitors can be connected to its analog or digital AES3 digital BNC outputs. This allows you to integrate your entire stereo, surround, or immersive loudspeaker setup into your AoIP network. These AES67 ports are fully compliant with modern broadcast standards, such as ST 2110, ST 2022-7, and RAVENNA. These subs also support Dante-generated AES67 network streams.
