The newly launched 8TB OWC Envoy Ultra joins its 2TB and 4TB siblings and may be taken almost anywhere with its IP67-rated crush, dust, and waterproof enclosure that efficiently dissipates heat. Its built-in Thunderbolt 5 connector cable enables transfer speeds up to 6000 MB/s with compatible laptops, tablets, and desktop workstations—that’s twice the speed of Thunderbolt 4.
OWC also announced an addition to the ThunderBlade X12 series, which is equipped with twelve 16TB M.2 SSDs for a total of 192TB of storage. With Thunderbolt 5 connectivity, the RAID array can reach up to 6600 MB/s read speeds with 5990 MB/s sustained write speeds over the entire volume. Additionally, its small footprint and fanless design makes it an ideal shuttle drive. The 192TB ThunderBlade X12 will be available later in 2026.
