ASM Bolsters Their Lineup with the All-New Leviasynth Hybrid Algorithmic Synthesizer

Ashun Sound Machines has announced the Leviasynth, an all-new 16-voice eight-oscillator hybrid algorithmic synthesizer engineered for expressive performance and explorative sound design. The Leviasynth platform is MPE compatible and offers both a 61-key aftertouch version and a keyboardless desktop version—both with multicolor touchscreen interfaces and an intuitive layout of physical controls so you can choose which is right for your workflow and budget.

The 61-key version features a four-octave ribbon controller, a polyphonic aftertouch keybed, and pitch/modulation wheels, whereas the desktop version includes 16 Polytouch pads with polyphonic aftertouch and velocity sensitivity. Both versions are capable of multi-mode, which allows splitting and dual oscillator layering. Each of the Leviasynth’s eight oscillators offer over 300 waveforms that can be arranged into groups (not dissimilar to the architecture and workflow of the Yamaha DX7), allowing for expansive timbral diversity and sound design.

This announcement comes on the heels of the ASM’s Diosynth wind-controller synthesizer, which was released late last year. The EWI-style Diosynth takes the synthesis engine of ASM’s highly esteemed flagship synthesizer, the Hydrasynth, and places it in a form factor with a key layout that should be familiar to any saxophone, clarinet, or flute player—perfect for experienced woodwind musicians who want access to a diverse sound pallet. The Diosynth allows musicians to flex their creativity and expression with the inclusion of breath/bite sensors, internal gyro, X/Y joystick, and pressure sensitive pads. It also includes 128 meticulously sampled real instruments, including rare and novel ones like the tubax or contrabass flute.

ASM also announced it will now carry ASM-manufactured original replacement parts for all current models of the Hydrasynth. Owners can purchase new a new power supply or replace any damaged or lost knob, rack ear, or side panel.
