Professional musicians and synth enthusiasts who want to get their hands on a rare edition of the classic Minimoog Model D (and perhaps the final production run of the instrument ever) should consider new Bob Moog Tribute Edition—a faithful recreation of the original featuring the identical sound engine and signal path from the 1970s.
The newly handcrafted synths are built by the Moog Music team in North Carolina and will include popular built-in modifications, like MIDI Integration, dedicated analog LFO, a premium keybed with aftertouch via top panel CV jacks, mixer feedback modification, and a spring-loaded pitch wheel. The metal reverse screen will have a unique back-panel decal, and each unit will include an SR Series travel case.
Moog plans for this to be the final production run of the Minimoog Model D, and only 500 units will be made available for purchase—and to support synth education and innovation, $500 from each instrument sold will be donated to the Bob Moog Foundation.
