Deity Announces the New PR-4 Compact Field Recorder

Deity has announced the new PR-4 Portable 4-Input 32-Bit Float Field Recorder, a compact recording solution that offers four microphone inputs and six-track recording in a small enough package to be mounted directly onto a camera and carried in a lightweight production bag.

The new field recorder caters to production teams focused on interviews, documentaries, weddings, and multi-person scenes, promising to capture clean and clear dialogue without the need for a bulky dedicated sound mixer, thanks to the PR-4s Automix feature.

With its 32-bit float architecture and dual-ADC mic preamps that deliver up to 60 dB of clean gain, the PR-4 is perfect for driving gain-hungry dynamic podcast mics without an external phantom power source while being more than capable of running a boom mic alongside multiple wireless lavaliers.

The Deity PR-4 has an easy-to-use color touchscreen interface and provides automatic backup redundancy in the event of storage malfunction, recording two copies of the audio to both an SD card up to 1TB and to an internal 64GB SSD, and features wireless timecode synchronization and the Sidus Audio app to streamline production and allow remote monitoring. The PR-4 also has a dedicated mini bag and mounting rig available for purchase separately.

Whether you're a smaller production team with a modern mirrorless rig, or a full-scale professional outfit who needs organized multi-track audio on the fly, the Deity PR-4 is a powerful and easy-to-use compact recorder worth your time if you need to level up your rig.
