Mackie is releasing the next evolution of their Thump PA systems with the new ThumpV4 lineup, updated with their new SoundCheck DSP system, which promises to deliver better flexibility and convenience with even more instant processing settings that designed to cater to almost any application.
The 1400W peak-rated ThumpV4 loudspeakers use class-D amplifiers and come in 12-inch and 15-inch models, perfect for venues, musicians, and DJs with some impressively elastic flexibility. With selectable voicing modes powered by SoundCheck DSP users can switch between four modes that change the sound profile between neutral/flat, bass boost for DJs, enhanced mid frequencies for speech and live events, or a wedge mode that transforms them into effective stage monitors.
SoundCheck DSP also powers instant setup settings, with a feedback eliminator, music ducking (for DJs making announcements), and an outdoor mode that compensates for the loss of resonance and room reflections. Just as before, the Mackie ThumpV4 features a built-in mixer that connects to any audio device via XLR or ¼” cable as well as Bluetooth capability for streaming and wirelessly linking two Thump speakers together in stereo, zone, or dual mono modes via the Thump Connect 2 app—and both features can be used simultaneously.
If you need to shake the floorboards with low-end power, the new Thump15Sv4 and 18Sv4 subwoofers come equipped with 1400W peak-rated Class-D amplifiers, dropping down to 27 and 25 Hz, respectively. The subs have a high pass mode with automatic crossover settings that instantly align with the Thump12, Thump15, or ThumpGo—but if you’re using a speaker from a different brand, the variable crossover feature provides a dial selecting between 80 and 160 Hz roll off, making it easy to dial in perfect low end even if you’re adding them to an existing setup.
The new Mackie ThumpV4 lineup has a custom-fitted nylon slip cover for the subs, T100 tripod for solo mounting the loudspeakers, SPM400 speaker pole for mounting compatible loudspeakers to the subs (via the sub’s M20 threads), and M10 flypoints on the loudspeakers for installing a flown speaker installation with the PA-A3 eyebolt kit—all sold separately.
Whether you’re looking for a new PA loudspeaker ecosystem, completing your existing Thump system, or just need to add some extra power to your setup, the new ThumpV4 series is a powerful and professional system with the rugged “built-like-a-tank” durability Mackie is known for.
