FUJIFILM expands the possibilities of their large-format cameras, the GFX ETERNA 55 especially, with the announcement of the GF 19-35mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR lens. The 19-35mm marks the widest angle-of-view available in GF-line lenses, and includes a bunch of much requested features including five stops of optical image stabilization and weather-resistant construction.
Billed as the ideal companion for the GF 32-90mm T3.5 lens, the new 19-35mm has the same large format coverage and G-mount design, as well as matching focus, iris, and zoom gear placement. FUJIFILM promises minimal focus breathing, controlled flaring, and little to no chromatic aberration thanks to ED (extra-low dispersion) and EBC (Electron Beam Coating) elements. The 19-35mm weighs 4.61 lb and measures 8.76" long, solid numbers for a cinema zoom with a consistent T-stop.
Like with the 32-90mm, focus, iris, and zoom gears are built into the lens if you want to use auto settings or make adjustments from the camera body. There are also switches on the lens to put these into manual mode and control them with the 0.8 MOD gearing. As previously mentioned, expect five stops of built-in optical image stabilization (OIS) and a weather-resistant design to protect the lens against moisture and dust. The 35mm equivalent focal range for the lens is 11-20mm.
