Roland has been producing the RD-Series instruments for more than 30 years, and the newest RD-2000 Stage Piano raises the bar by combining three decades of piano research and advanced controller features into one powerful and versatile instrument. The RD-2000 offers stunning acoustic and electric pianos, as well as a vast collection of additional sounds for tackling any musical style. The instrument also functions as a full-fledged controller with 88 weighted keys, eight knobs, and nine sliders, which provide seamless integration of software instruments and hardware sound modules.
The instrument features two sound engines, with the first dedicated to acoustic piano only, offering rich, highly detailed tone with the latest V-Piano technology. The second SuperNATURAL-based 128-voice engine drives more than 1,100 sounds, including a large selection of electric pianos, organs, modern and vintage synths, clavinets, orchestral strings, brass, and more. Additionally, there are expansion packs available for adding more sounds.
The RD-2000 offers extensive USB audio/MIDI functionality and deep integration into your studio or live-performance setup. You can integrate software instruments easily from a laptop, control them via zones along with internal sounds, and route their audio through the RD-2000 to create a powerful hybrid rig. The interface supports 24-bit audio at rates up to 192 kHz, allowing you to access your highest-quality sounds.
The PHA-50 progressive hammer-action keyboard with escapement is an effective platform for playing the RD-2000's responsive acoustic and electric pianos. Derived from Roland’s premium home pianos, the keyboard features hybrid keys constructed of wood and molded materials, combining classic feel with rugged durability. Together with Roland's advanced sensor mechanism and hammer-action design, the PHA-50 delivers authentic grand piano touch.
The eight knobs and nine sliders control sounds, effects, and more. They feature LED indicators to show current parameter values, at a glance. There are eight assignable zones that allow you to map sounds to different key ranges, or create combined sounds with up to eight layers. Additionally, the instrument offers 100 snapshot memory slots, so you can save the entire keyboard setup and recall them with a touch while performing.
