In the following video, Allan Weitz takes a look at Zeiss’s latest lens offerings, the Batis 85mm f/1.8 and 25mm f/2 for full-frame E-mount cameras. Weitz reviews the different optical designs and purposes of each, as well as walking us through specific features, such as the OLED readouts for focus distance and depth-of-field and built-in autofocus motors. He also discusses how you can create separation of subjects from backgrounds by using the large maximum apertures of both lenses, in addition to the benefit of image stabilization in the 85mm. Finally, Weitz highlights the still-photo orientation of the lenses, as well as possible applications for video shooters. We hope you enjoy the video, and invite you to view the wide selection of other instructional and informative videos at BandH.com.
