Always progressing, Samyang has expanded its portfolio with the new AF 85mm f/1.4 EF lens, a portrait-length prime featuring an advanced autofocus motor. Unique to the familiar manual focus options, this new autofocus-enabled lens sports an Ultrasonic Dual Linear motor, which affords fast and quiet focusing performance to suit photo and video use. An internal focusing design is also used to maintain the overall length of the lens during use.
Aside from the new focusing motor, this lens is, of course, distinguished by its bright f/1.4 maximum aperture and flattering 85mm focal length. This combination is ideal for portraiture, and the fast design offers greater control over depth of field and suits working in low light. Optically, this lens has nine elements in seven groups, including one hybrid aspherical element to reduce aberrations and distortions, and an Ultra Multi-Coating helps to suppress flare.
