Profoto has announced the latest accessory for its popular A-Series flashes: the OCF Adapter. Designed to expand off-camera shooting possibilities when using Air Remote Wireless Triggers with A1, A1X, or A10 studio lights, the new tool is compatible with all of Profoto's OCF light-shaping tools.
Simple to use and sturdy in build, A-Series lights slide and lock into the shoe of the adapter, which can then be mounted on a light stand or other ⅝" stud. OCF modifiers can then be secured to the ring of the adapter. Although designed specifically for the OCF mount, small RFi modifiers are also compatible.
With the new adapter, you can use OCF softboxes, reflectors, beauty dishes, barndoors, or snoots with A-Series lights, opening up the same light-shaping possibilities you get with Profoto's larger strobes. An umbrella mount is also integrated into its design.
The unit is tiltable so you can adjust the angle of your light source when secured to a stand. The main unit also detaches from its ⅝" receiver for further mounting applications. It includes a carrying case for easy transport.
Are you a fan of Profoto's A-Series lights? OCF adapters? Will you be using them together? Let us know in the Comments section, below.

I'm a Profoto fan and have eleven A and B series heads. The OCF Adapter would be handy for some A-series situations but $300 is insane. Will do without until Profoto comes to their senses on price..... or SmallRig, Godox or someone else makes a reasonably-priced similar.
I balked at the price, but decided to take a look at it because everything that I've ordered for these A1X lights has been built super well and are made to last even when subjected to pro demands.
Well, this was no exception. Over-engineered all steel construction (except the oversized knobs). VERY sturdy ... securely holds even larger OCF mods no stress on the flash hotshot mount itself. Strong stand mount, no drift or over-tightening required. Nicely finished in mat black.
Worth $300? First job I did with it answered that question.
Hi Marc, thanks for writing and sharing your experience. Glad to hear the OCF adapter worked so well for you.
A Steal!
Only $300.00?
Give us a break, you're insane.
Not at that price. Nice that it can be used with existing reflectors but still to expensive.
I love profoto as much as any other, but 300 bucks for this is extreme.
Three bills, seriously? I'll wait for the Godox adapter at 1/10th the price.
Godox will make this for $20
