Sony Firmware Update Adds Direct Flash Control from a7R IV, a7R III, and a7 III Cameras

Sony Flash Control Firmware Update

Sony’s latest firmware for the Alpha a7R IV, a7R III, and a7 III mirrorless digital cameras add in-body control to external Sony flashes. With the update, you will be able to make adjustments to an attached Sony flash, wireless flashes, and flashes connected via the Wireless Radio Commander using the camera’s menu system. Changes can be made via the rear LCD screen or EVF, so you can make adjustments without needing to look away from your viewfinder. Further streamlining workflow, flash control can be assigned to a custom button to facilitate quick adjustments. Up to 15 flashes in five groups can be controlled via the camera.

The new update is compatible with the HVL-F60RM and HVL-F45RM wireless flashes and FA-WRC1M Wireless Radio Commander. The firmware update for the three cameras can be found here. To update compatible accessories, follow the appropriate link: HVL-F60RM, HVL-F45RM, and FA-WRC1M.
