The GNARBOX Editing System: 256GB… and no Laptop!

0Share

If you’re a photo or video editor who needs to work from their mobile device or perform backups while traveling or on location, consider the GNARBOX Portable Backup & Editing System. Already available in 128GB, GNARBOX has just upped the ante by increasing the flash storage capacity to 256GB.

The GNARBOX is a mobile editing suite that fits in your pocket. Small and compact, and around the size of a standard portable drive, it is controlled via a mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android. Powered by a 1.92 GHz Intel® Quad-Core™ processor, 2GB of RAM, a Quad-Core Intel HD Graphics GPU, and data transfer speeds of up to 4GB per minute, it supports H.264 (.MP4 and .MOV) files, video resolutions up to 4K, frame rates up to 240 fps, and JPEG and raw files from Sony, Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, Fujifilm, and Olympus. Media can be copied to the GNARBOX using the built-in SD and microSD card slots, while USB 3.0 Type-A and USB 2.0 Type-A ports allow for external storage drives and other card readers, such as CompactFlash or XQD, to be connected. Power is provided by a 4000mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, allowing you to work for up to 6 hours before recharging is required.

If you’ve been looking for an efficient mobile editing and backup solution, the GNARBOX is worth considering. If you’re interested in my in-depth, hands-on review of the GNARBOX, please see my Explora article.
