With a guide number of 197' at ISO 100 and 200mm, Canon’s Speedlite 600EX II-RT offers the same power of its predecessor but with an improved continuous flash performance of 1.1–1.5x, ensuring that it can keep up with the most demanding professionals. The dust- and water-resistant flash retains the proprietary 2.4 GHz radio system that its predecessor pioneered, and receives a simplified menu system for more intuitive operation that is similar to that of the 430EX III-RT. Along with these operational improvements, Canon has also upgraded the accessories included with the unit, including a new hard bounce adapter for diffusing light output. The filter set now features light and dark orange snap-on hard filters for durability and enhanced usability. Additionally, the redesigned soft pouch is designed to hold the flash and accessories in a single place.
Alongside the flash is a revised CP-E4N Compact Battery Pack for select Canon Speedlites. This can be used to further improve the recycle time of the 600EX II-RT by 2x for extreme rapid-fire action. The pack holds eight AA batteries, meaning users will be able to work for almost twice as long before having to worry about running out of juice. The pack will also come with a dedicated case so you can attach it to a strap or belt.
