A welcome release for photographers who still value the physical print, Canon has just announced its newest compact wireless dye-sub printer, the SELPHY CP1200. Designed to match a mobile lifestyle, this new printer incorporates a dedicated Wi-Fi button for quickly linking to an existing wireless network, and is also AirPrint-enabled for seamless printing directly from iOS devices. A Canon PRINT Inkjet/SELPHY app is also available to facilitate printing your favorite social media images or other on-the-go snaps directly from your mobile device.
As a dye-sublimation printer, no messy ink cartridges or other supplies are needed beyond the convenient, self-contained Paper and Ink Sets. And as a portable printer, the CP1200 has the distinct advantage of running on either AC power or an optional NB-CP2LH battery pack, which provides enough power for producing 54 prints per charge. Each borderless 4 x 6" print takes just 47 seconds to produce, and prints are inherently water resistant, as well as archival rated for up to 100 years. Output printing resolution is rated at 300 x 300 dpi, and prints exhibit a 16.8-million color gamut for clear, nuanced tones and a broad dynamic range.
Benefitting the look of your final prints, the CP1200 also incorporates a range of enhancement features to fine-tune the look of subjects or format your imagery for specific needs, including ID photo printing templates; Portrait Image Optimize and Red-Eye Correction settings to intelligently adjust the brightness of subjects' faces and remove unwanted red-eye; and a Smooth Skin setting to minimize the appearance of unwanted blemishes in portraits. A 2.7" tilting LCD is integrated into the compact form factor of the printer for reviewing image edits and confirming printing jobs, and both USB and SD memory card slots are available for offloading images from a variety of devices.
The SELPHY CP1200 is available in black or white, or in a bundle with the black printer and an NB-CP2LH battery.

I can't wait to see this in action. My concern is the speed, the amount of paper it can hold, paper cost per print, and quality.
I hope Canon deosn't disappoint.
Oh they wont disappoint. 108 prints per on aver rage $28.00.you can do the rest of the math.
