AKG has announced the release of three new microphones to replace the P-series of mics: the AKG C104, C114, and C151.
The AKG C104 is a large diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone designed for modern content creators, podcasters, streamers, and video producers. The C104 is an attractive mic that will look great on screen while sounding just as good with its nickel-sputtered diaphragm, wide dynamic range, and a high headroom of 143 dB.
The AKG C114 is the next step up from the C104, great for content creation but also designed for musicians and recording studios. The C114 is also a large diaphragm condenser microphone with upgraded features like a gold-sputtered capsule, 145 dB of headroom, and three selectable pickup patterns: omni, cardioid, and bidirectional/figure 8.
The AKG C151 is a small diaphragm cardioid condenser mic, the partner to the C104. The C151 is a smaller top address condenser mic built for musicians and content creators. As a small diaphragm microphone, it has a higher sensitivity to mid and high frequency content and more off-axis sound rejection than its counterparts, making it great for micing rooms or quieter, more transient sources.
