The new LYD Series Personal Reference Monitors are designed for nearfield listening and built with handcrafted drive units. The series excels at low volume precision, making them ideal for small studios, editing rooms, and home setups.
The LYD is offered in three models: the LYD 5, LYD 7, and LYD 8, having 5, 7, and 8" woofers, respectively. The woofers are constructed from light aluminum wire with a large-diameter voice coil that surrounds the magnet for superior linearity. The diaphragm and dust cap are molded out of one piece of Magnesium Silicate Polymer (MSP), which provides an ideal mix of stiffness, weight, and damping for precision and accuracy. All models also utilize a 28mm soft dome tweeter for high-frequency reproduction. The rear panel includes balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA inputs with several setting switches including, bass extension, sound balance, position, and sensitivity.
The LYD 5 is the smallest offering, with a 5" woofer, which excels at low volume precision. The state-of-the-art 50W / 50W (HF / LF) Class-D amplifier utilizes a 96 kHz / 24-bit signal path and DSP to provide outstanding performance. The monitor offers a frequency response of 50 Hz to 22 kHz with a maximum SPL output of 106 dB (1m, per pair).
The LYD 7 uses a larger 7" woofer to help extend the bass frequencies. The monitor also utilizes a 50W / 50W Class-D amplifier with a 96 kHz / 24-bit signal path and DSP. The LYD 7 offers a frequency response of 45 Hz to 22 kHz with a maximum SPL of 109 dB (1m, per pair).
The LYD 8 uses a large 8" woofer for extended bass response and features a 50W / 80W (HF / LF) Class-D amplifier with the same high-resolution signal path and DSP. The LYD 8 offers a frequency response of 45 Hz to 22 kHz with a maximum SPL output of 112 dB (1m, per pair).
