If you are in the market for a wireless handheld microphone system, then Sennheiser’s ew 100-945 G3 Series wireless systems might be the ticket. There are four frequency-range models, including the new A1 (470 to 516 MHz), as well as A (516 to 558 MHz), B (626 to 668 MHz), and G (566 to 608 MHz).

All of the systems ship with an EM 100 G3 wireless UHF diversity receiver with 1,680 tunable frequencies across 42 MHz and 20 bands, with 12 channel presets each. The half-rack sized all-metal enclosure is roadworthy and may be rack-mounted with an optional GA-3 rackmount kit. The unit features balanced XLR and unbalanced ¼" outputs and utilizes two BNC-type antennas. The backlit display is easy to read in low light. The receiver is powered by an included 12V DC power supply.

The SKM 100 G3 with an e945 capsule is a dynamic microphone transmitter with a supercardioid polar pattern. The microphone is capable of withstanding SPL levels of 154 dB and will run more than 8 hours on the included AA batteries. A pilot-tone squelch eliminates RF interference when the transmitter is turned off. There is an automatic frequency scan feature that searches for the best available frequency and switches with zero latency or effect on sound quality. Should you wish to change to a different microphone capsule, the transmitter is compatible with any evolution series modules and is easily exchanged. The HDX compander ensures crystal-clear sound, while the auto-lock function prevents the accidental changing of settings. The system also includes a mic clip, which is compatible with all standard microphone stands.

The entire system is simple to set up and use, while offering dependable, high-quality sound for use in speech and performance applications. The ew 100-945 G3 is well suited for theaters, clubs, town halls, houses of worship, DJ applications, and more.
