Expressive E, in collaboration with Haken Audio, announced the release of a new standalone polyphonic synthesizer, the Osmose. Designed to set a new standard for musical expressivity, the Osmose features a deep, modular digital sound engine; hundreds of high-quality, ready-to-use presets; and new MPE gesture technology that allows you to not only play with ease but unlock new ways to control sound, such as pressing, bending, shaking, and more. For those in the market for a versatile, innovative synthesizer to boost creative possibilities, the Osmose is for you.

Combining traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, the Osmose is the result of more than 10 years of research and development. The Osmose’s unique keybed mechanism not only offers traditional playing comfort through its 49 full-size keys with pitch and modulation sliders, but also full three-dimensional control, allowing each note to be articulated independently for unique expressive possibilities.

To take advantage of this innovative new keyboard technology, the Osmose sports the advanced EaganMatrix polyphonic sound engine developed by Haken Audio. This powerful, 24-voice sound engine combines many types of digital synthesis, including physical modeling, FM, and more, to produce a workflow-oriented soundbox. The Osmose ships with more than 500 presets and each of them has been individually customized with efficient macros for opening new realms of sound exploration.

The Osmose is built to both enhance your creative potential and to empower your existing external hardware and software. This synthesizer can easily function as a traditional MIDI keyboard controller or as a flexible MPE MIDI controller for your devices. It offers advanced features such as polyphonic aftertouch support, a multi-channel MIDI mode, and global pitch bend. All these features can be accessed and adjusted directly from the bright, color LCD screen of the Osmose interface, without the need for a computer, but you can use a computer-based editor to create and edit sounds as well.

Connectivity is painless thanks to numerous I/O options. MIDI DIN in, out, and thru ports, along with USB, ensure easy connection to any digital device. The Osmose also sports dual, stereo 1/4" line outputs with a 1/4" headphone output. Two continuous pedal inputs, assignable to sustain or synth parameters, are also available to greatly enhance your performance options.

With MPE controllers taking the music world by storm, the Osmose represents the latest and most versatile entry in this increasingly crowded field.
