Great news for audio engineers, musicians, and home recordists! Mackie has released a bevy of new products for live sound, including ProFXv3 mixers and the SRM-Flex wireless column loudspeaker. Designed to cover everything from small presentations to DJ setups to large bands, these Mackie goodies offer a winning combination of versatility, sonic performance, and affordability.
First up are the ProFXv3 Series mixers, available in configurations with 6, 10, 12, 16, 22, or 30 channels. This line of analog mixing consoles presents significant upgrades from the ProFXv2 range, and comes with a powerful software bundle—Pro Tools First, 23 Pro Tools plug-ins, the Waveform OEM DAW, and 16 effects plug-ins for any DAW. The Vita preamps from the ProFXv2 mixers have been replaced by Onyx preamps, raising the maximum gain from 50 dB (on the Vita) to 60 dB (on the Onyx). Rather than having a single Hi-Z input like the version 2 models, each ProFXv3 mixer can accommodate two Hi-Z instruments. Single-knob compressors (and more of them) are found on all v3 mixers except for the ProFX6v3.
Although they are analog mixers, the ProFXv3 consoles have some surprising digital features. With 24 built-in effects at your disposal, you can quickly sweeten your mix while avoiding outboard processors and complicated routing. The integrated 2x4 USB audio interface lets you record shows, rehearsals, and song ideas at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz resolution to your computer, and the blend control provides zero-latency hardware monitoring.
Need to make a ProFXv3 mixer ready for the road? Mackie produced numerous accessories for precisely that purpose. There are carry bags for all mixers except the ProFX30v3, and dust covers for all models except the ProFX6v3. For the ProFX12v3 and ProFX16v3, rack installation kits are also available.
Optimal for small- to medium-sized venues, the SRM-Flex is a portable column array loudspeaker system that can be transported, configured, and operated easily by just one person. It breaks down into four sections and comes with a carry bag and a slip cover to make moving from gig to gig simple. At its core, the SRM-Flex is a two-way 1300W sound system with a 10" woofer and six 2” high-frequency drivers. However, it goes far beyond that. It features an onboard 6-channel digital mixer with a control-per-function design, 2-band EQ, three application-specific voicing modes, and three choices of reverb. The SRM-Flex’s built-in Bluetooth capabilities enable you to not only stream music from a mobile device, but also wirelessly mix via a user-friendly app on your iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.

Whether you work in a theater, house of worship, club, or your own room, the latest offerings from Mackie can help you upgrade your sound without evaporating your pocketbook. Stop by the B&H SuperStore or visit our website to learn more!
