A long time ago, a single manufacturer was perceived to be the undisputed leader in hollow-body electric guitars. That, however, was a long time ago. Now you regularly see some of the greatest jazz guitarists of our time playing Ibanez hollow-body guitars, and with its AF75 model—part of the Artcore Series—it’s not hard to see why. With its single-cutaway maple body, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard, the AF75 series offers both an eminently playable experience and much in the way of tone.
For electronics, these guitars feature a pair of Classic Elite humbucking pickups in the neck and bridge, alongside a three-way pickup selector switch. Individual volume and tone knobs let you set different tones with each pickup and switch between these tones with ease. You’ll find guitars available with tuneomatic-style bridges (in left- and right-handed models), though if you like a little wobble in your tone, a vibrato tailpiece with a sizeable tremolo arm is offered in these red and black models.
