JBL has updated its Control Contractor Series loudspeakers with a compelling array of new features and performance enhancements, including an updated contemporary look, a flatter and wider frequency response for a more natural sound, greater bass extension, improved coverage for on- and off-axis sound, and a higher SPL rating. The updated line includes three models, the Control 23-1, Control 25-1, and Control 28-1. All models are available individually or in pairs.
Available in black or white, the Control 23-1 features a 3" low-frequency woven-fiberglass cone with pure butyl rubber surround and a Weather-Edge frame protection structure, while the high-frequency driver utilizes a 0.5" PEI diaphragm with a low-viscosity ferro-magnetic fluid and lightweight Kapton voice coil former. The drivers combine to offer a full range of frequency response of 70 Hz to 20 kHz with a power rating of 100W continuous and wide 100 x 100° coverage.
Also available in black or white, the Control 25-1 features a larger 5.25" low-frequency woven-fiberglass cone with pure butyl rubber surround and a Weather-Edge frame protection structure. The high-frequency driver features a larger 0.75" PEI diaphragm with the same low-viscosity ferro-magnetic fluid and lightweight Kapton voice coil former. The drivers combine to offer a full-range frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz with a power rating of 200W continuous and wide 100 x 100° coverage.
The black or white Control 28-1 features an even larger 8" low-frequency woven-fiberglass cone with pure butyl rubber surround and a Weather-Edge frame protection structure. The high-frequency driver utilizes a 1" PEI diaphragm with a low-viscosity ferro-magnetic fluid and lightweight Kapton voice coil former. The drivers combine to offer a full-range frequency response of 45 Hz to 20 kHz with a power rating of 200W continuous and wide 100 x 100° coverage.
All of the Control Series combine 70V/100V transformers for low-power distributed systems and low-impedance non-transformer versions into a single cabinet for greater installation flexibility. The weatherized enclosures feature zinc-plated grills finished with durable TGIC polyester power-coating, screw-down input terminals, and built-in InvisiBall mounting hardware, plus compatibility with an optional U-bracket. The Weather-Edge rubberized extensions provide protection against heat, rain, and wind. The speakers can also accept a variety of finishes and pigments to match any surrounding. The Contractor Control Series loudspeakers offer excellent performance and value for any venue, health club, theme park, café, or anywhere quality indoor/outdoor foreground/background music (and/or paging) is required.
