JBL EON: A Personal PA with Tons of Personality

0Share

JBL has released a new compact, rechargeable, personal PA. Called the EON ONE, this PA has many uses. A singer-songwriter can take it to small gigs, or busk on a street with it. Fitness instructors can amplify their voices over the music. Educators, presenters, corporations, and hotels can all make use of this all-in-one PA systems in their endeavors. With a 112-dB output, the PA can be quite loud, louder than its 8" woofer would belie. Speaking of the woofer, it reaches down to frequencies of 37.5 Hz for solid bass reproduction. You can set it up easily using the JBL Compact Connect App, making use of delay, chorus, and reverb to touch up your microphone for that polished sound.

Bluetooth streaming is on hand for phones and tablets, and you can link two units for stereo operation. With two microphone preamps, you can get a rich, full sound. What’s more, you can make use of the ducking feature to lower any music automatically when it detects speech; this is great for fitness instructors who need to compete with the music.

A panoply of connection and jacks is built into the unit, including a headphone jack, XLR-1/4" combo jacks, a guitar input, and even two USB 3.0 ports for high-speed charging. Speaking of charging, you’ll be able to charge this PA in less than 2.5 hours. It will last up to six hours at maximum volume, and up to 12 hours at lower levels.

Use this monitor in vertical or horizontal orientation, or tilt it back on its built-in tilting tablet. A pole mount expands its usage. The monitor weighs well under 20 lb and, thanks to its ergonomic carry handle, you can take it with you wherever you roam quite easily.
