Lectrosonics is announcing two new members of the company's D-SQUARED family of professional digital wireless products: The DPR, a plug-on transmitter with digital recording capabilities, and the DSQD/AES3, a variation of the DSQD receiver with AES3 digital outputs.
The DPR brings legendary Lectrosonics wireless reliability and ultra-low noise, fully digital audio quality to your preferred XLR microphone (or line source). It retains the size and shape of the HM and HMa models and offers 5, 15, and 48V phantom power to ensure compatibility with a wide range of condenser and dynamic mics. The digital architecture allows the system to support AES 256-CTR encryption, ensuring your transmissions are secure.
The onboard microSCHC recorder provides users with a 24-bit/48 kHz .WAV file that's impervious to wireless interference. While the DPR can't transmit wirelessly and record at the same time, it can function as a primary recording device in environments where wireless systems are impractical because of distance, heavy UHF traffic, or other location issues. A 3.5mm TRS time code input allows you to jam-sync the recorder to the on-set master clock, eliminating the hassle of syncing audio and video in post.
As mentioned, the other new development in the D-SQUARED universe is the addition of the DSQD/AES3. This version of the company's acclaimed four-channel receiver substitutes the DANTE ports on the original with two TA3M jacks that support AES3 digital audio. The outstanding feature set, including an ultrawide frequency bandwidth, three levels of diversity, and three levels of encryption, remains intact.
