If you run sound for medium-sized live shows, houses of worship, and similar venues, getting a good sound just got a whole lot easier: Mackie just released new active loudspeakers that are durable, tunable, insanely powerful, sonically accurate, and quite easy-to-use. These speakers even stream audio over Bluetooth!
Dubbed the V-Class SRM Powered Loudspeakers, each speaker pushes 2000W of power—which is a resounding amount of sound. Their class-D amplifier circuits offer transparent limiting at the loudest levels, so you never have to suffer distortion when the music is pumping.
Get them with 10, 12, or 15" drivers, depending on the space you need to fill. Whichever model you choose, each one comes with custom SymX horns that always deliver a precise sound, a sound that’s faithful to the original audio source.
Since these speakers are Bluetooth enabled, you can link them wirelessly, and you can also use special built-in DSP to tune each loudspeaker to the specific room. No two rooms sound alike, but with Advanced Impulse DSP, each of them can sound great.
Each speaker comes with a 4-channel mixer, with inputs for mic, line, and instrument signals, as well as a high-contrast full color display so you can see all your selected parameters. A convenient single knob gives you control over all the speaker’s processing. When all your audio is hooked up, you can control everything wirelessly thanks to the SRM connect app.
As for mounting options, these monitors offer dual-angle pole mounts. Or, you can place them on the floor and use them as floor monitors.
