Native Instruments launched the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 interface to much acclaim—so much acclaim that the company will follow it up with a next-gen model. Called the KOMPLETE AUDIO 6 Mk2, this audio interface offers an upgraded audio path, one that can handle audio up to 192 kHz/24-bit.
Six channels of I/O are on hand. For analog inputs, you get two XLR-1/4" jacks and two line-level ins. The analog output side gives you four DC-coupled jacks that can handle either audio or CV, making the unit compatible with all your favorite modular gear. S/PDIF I/O? Check! MIDI I/O? Of course!
This interface has more than enough for producers to program, compose, mix, and record the occasional soloist. Direct monitoring is on hand to make latency a thing of the past when you’re recording. Two headphone jacks with independent level knobs are built-in for private monitoring, and a prominent volume dial allows you to become the Lord of the Levels! Connect to your computer of USB 2.0—in fact, the unit is bus-powered, making it eminently portable.
Now, it wouldn’t be a Native Instruments launch without some software goodies included, and this interface doesn’t disappoint, what with its full complement of MASCHINE Essentials, REPLIKA delay, Ableton Live Lite, Traktor LE 3, and a whole lot more.
