NAMM 2019: Multi-Track Recording Update for the RØDECaster Pro

0Share

Our friends at RØDE just can’t stop with the endless planning, scheming, and implementing of improvements to their product line. A perfect example is the RØDECaster Pro, the powerful integrated podcast production studio, released in late 2018. Though it already provided a wealth of user-friendly features, flexible functions, and tone-enhancing processing, RØDE decided to make it even better with a convenient firmware update that unlocks multi-track recording capabilities and enhancements to the user interface.

RØDE RØDECaster Pro Integrated Podcast Production Studio

Coming in February 2019, this version 1.1.0 firmware update will give your RØDECaster Pro the power to record up to 14 channels of audio as multi-track files to an SD card. To be more specific, it will support recording a stereo “live mix” track, one mono track per microphone input (four “mic” tracks total), and four additional stereo tracks—one for the USB source, one for the 3.5mm TRRS input, one for the Bluetooth stream, and one for the output of the sound pads. This multi-track recording functionality allows detailed manipulation in post-production. So, whether you load the multi-track files into your favorite DAW, or run them through a boatload of external gear, you can treat each track with separate processing and effects.

Once the firmware update has been installed, you can enable it easily by going to the Advanced settings in RØDECaster Pro’s Hardware section. From there, you’ll find a toggle function to engage/disengage the “Multi-Channel” mode. Done!

If you own a RØDECaster Pro, the sooner you execute this firmware update, the sooner you’ll reap the rewards of multi-track recording to SD cards. If you don’t have a RØDECaster Pro, perhaps it’s time to change that. Stop by the B&H SuperStore or visit our website to learn more!
