Who isn’t in the market for earphones these days? At home, taking a hike, on stage, or in the studio, you deserve great sound no matter where you are. Westone—well regarded for its earpieces, earphones, and hearing protection—has released several new models of in-ear headphones (a.k.a. earphones) to further broaden its spectrum of personal monitoring solutions.

Fresh to the Westone line is the B Series, with the triple-driver B30 and the five-driver B50. Both models feature balanced armature drivers, 3-way passive crossovers, and True-Fit technology for a comfortable fit with a great seal and up to 25 dB of passive noise isolation. The B30 boasts a frequency response of 15 Hz to 18 kHz, while the B50 provides extra bass and extended highs with its 10 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response. Each version includes a deluxe black zipper case, replaceable faceplates, ten pairs of eartips (five foam and five silicone), a high-definition silver MMCX cable, and an IPX4-rated Bluetooth cable. So, just swap cables to switch between wired and wireless operation!

The W Series gets a sprucing up with Generation 2 versions. The single-driver W10 and dual-driver W20 each come with an iOS-friendly MFi cable with a built-in microphone and 3-button remote, an IPX4-rated Bluetooth cable, replaceable faceplates, ten pairs of eartips (just like the B Series), and a carrying case. The slightly more sensitive W10s have a frequency response of 20 Hz to 16 kHz, whereas the W20s extend to 18 kHz. If you go for the quad-driver W40 or six-driver W60, you’ll find they feature deep bass down to 10 Hz, top-end clarity (up to 18 kHz for the W40, up to 20 kHz for the W60), and the same premium accessories bundled with the B Series. The flagship of the W Series is the W80; it boasts eight drivers per earpiece for an ultra-wide frequency response of 5 Hz to 22 kHz! In addition to replaceable faceplates and a fancy zipper case, the W80 comes with a silver-plated copper audio reference cable and an aptX-HD Bluetooth cable. Since all models in the W Series benefit from balanced armature drivers and passive noise attenuation—up to 35 dB for the W80, up to 25 dB for the others, they’re sure to deliver a consistently pleasing sonic experience.

The final member of the W Series to get a Generation 2 update is the Wx. These wireless earphones use a traditional single-driver design, but incorporate Westone’s proprietary balanced armature drivers instead of the more common dynamic drivers. The behind-the-neck Bluetooth cable utilizes Bluetooth version 4.0, aptX technology, and MMCX connectors, which allow easy changeover to other MMCX-equipped cables. With up to eight hours of battery life and an integrated 3-button remote control, the Wx is a great partner for your mobile device.
