Neumann has announced the successor to the lauded KH310 A with the KH310 II Studio Monitor, which debuts alongside the brand-new KH350 Studio Monitor—both of which are three-way monitors designed for medium and large rooms for recording, production, broadcast, and immersive audio. Neumann has decided to switch from class-AB amplifiers to class-D, a change brought about by the recent and rapid advancements of class-D technology. The higher efficiency amps deliver significantly more power and SPL with increases as much as 90W per driver.
Both new models share the same drivers, amps, 32-bit DSP signal path, woofer/midrange/tweeter sizes, digital AES3id BNC and analog inputs, and ELFF woofer technology delivering super low distortion. The KH310 II is a landscape-oriented sealed cabinet monitor with the exact same external dimensions as its predecessor and focuses on midrange clarity, where the NH350 is a vertically oriented bass reflex cabinet that zeros in on extended low frequency response (down to 26 Hz ±6 dB) and extended max SPL, making it perfect for full-range performance without a subwoofer and for multi-channel immersive setups. The series will come with many bracketing options for a variety of setup styles.
