Sennheiser and GoPro have been collaborating in the audio area since the GoPro developer’s conference in San Francisco, last April, 2016. In January, 2017, the Sennheiser MKE2 Elements microphone was approved by GoPro and received the “Works with GoPro” endorsement. The long-awaited for MKE2 Elements Microphone for GoPro HERO4 Action Cameras is now available for preorder at B&H Photo Video.
Scheduled to ship in early April, 2017, the microphone and windshield can be used to deliver a high-quality audio signal to the camera for videographers—even in extreme conditions such as in wind, water, snow, dust, and mud. The omnidirectional microphone capsule has a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response and is featured with a replaceable windscreen.
Furthermore, the Sennheiser capsule inside the windshield delivers audio to the GoPro HERO4 connector. The microphone is attached to a Backdoor, which replaces the original HERO4 Backdoor of the protective housing. The microphone is built with the GoPro connection for the HERO4.
When it comes to watersports, the MKE2 Elements is designed for events like swimming, surfing, kite surfing, and snorkeling. It will capture audio up to a couple of feet below the waterline. Additionally, the sound is what you would expect from a Sennheiser microphone. It is not compromised and you can capture the audio for your sports gear and your voice without any clipping. Preorder your Sennheiser Pro MKE2 Elements for the GoPro HERO4 action camera today and add great audio to your adventures.
