Fostex has released its second version of the TH-900 premium headphones, now featuring detachable connectors for cable replacement and compatibility with the optional balanced cable (model ET-H3.0N7BL). Like the original, the TH-900mk2 offers a uniquely designed Neodymium magnetic circuit, adopting the magnetic repulsion system with 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss) magnetic flux density to achieve wider dynamic range.
The Biodyna diaphragm is made by bio-cellulose fiber, featuring low specific gravity, high Young's modulus, and high internal loss at the same time to achieve twice high propagation velocity and five times high rigidity against the conventional plastic film-based driver units, resulting in fine- and high-resolution sound reproduction and a frequency response of 5 Hz to 45 kHz.
The included detachable unbalanced cable is made of 7N grade (99.99999%) OFC and a highly durable duralumin plug case with a gold-plated stereo ¼" plug. The housings are finished with Japanese traditional Urushi lacquer on Japanese Cherry Birch, while the ear pads are made of protein leather from eggshell membrane, for maximum comfort. The headphones ship with a stand and carrying case.

Wider Dynamic Range, How's that? The stats seem the same as the original version.
Hi Steve -
This is according to Fostex and is not reflected in specifications but is very apparent in an actual listening comparison.
