If you’re a longtime FL Studio Pro, you know that it doesn’t function quite like any other DAW on the market, meaning that mapping parameters to a standard controller can be a tedious venture. The Novation FLKey Series of MIDI keyboard controllers fixed this issue by matching their hardware to the exact software design of FL Studio, working seamlessly together right out of the box.
Well, now there’s even better news for FL fans: Novation has teamed up with Image-Line once again to add to their lineup of FL-Studio centric MIDI control modules with the FLPad and FLPad Mini, and FL fans should know exactly where this is going!
The FL Pad and FLPad Mini are both based on the acclaimed Novation Launchpad controllers, featuring 64 velocity-sensitive pads that facilitate music production and beat-making; creating on FL Studio is easier than ever before.
Make beats in the Channel Rack and select and trigger your samples directly from the pads, step-sequence your concoctions by creating and editing up to four instruments at once from melodies to bass lines to drum patterns, and play and perform drums, basslines, and melodies live on the pads chromatically or by locking each pad into one of 30 pre-installed scales. Dedicated transport controls making playback, recording, and undo/redo functions easily accessible; you can even turn the grid into a row of faders to control the Channel Rack mixer directly.
If you’re and FL Studio user who uses traditional MIDI keyboards but haven’t checked out the FLkey series yet, check out the Mini 25, 37, 49, and 61 on our online storefront for more information—but for the FL Studio users that have been waiting for a plug-and-play grid controller, pick up your new FLpad and start making beats in a brand new way!
