Looking for a loudspeaker system capable of reproducing audio with extreme fidelity at both high and low volumes? Then the Presonus Air Series might be what you’re after, offering three full-range speakers and two subwoofers, all of which offer clear, accurate sound for mobile and installed applications.
The full range top design utilizes a “best of both worlds” approach which optimizes separate and distinct amplifiers. A 500-watt continuous Class-D for the low frequency driver delivers efficient, clean low end, while a 200-watt continuous Class-AB for the high-frequency driver provides a natural airy high-end sound with a 90˚x 60˚ dispersion pattern. The multi-angle enclosure can be used for mains or monitor-wedge applications and is made from rugged H-PP molded plastic and features a dual position (0˚, 7.5˚) pole mount.
The rear panel offers two channels of input each with combo XLR-1/4” connectors and a single XLR mix output for flexibility in setting up a multi-speaker system. An 1/8” TRS stereo jack is provided for hooking up a portable playback device such as a phone or tablet. Each speaker is equipped with an easy-to-use signal processor and LCD screen that makes it simple to customize settings. The DSP performance presets include DJ, FOH, Monitor, and Speech. Additional presets and controls include: Stand for mounting on a pole or tripod, Bracket, for wall-mount applications, and Suspend for hanging applications. There is also dedicated high and low frequency EQ, which help further correct any sound anomalies and fine tune your system’s output. A universal power supply is switchable between 115V and 230V, making the Air Series speakers compatible with any power source in the world.
The AIR10 features a 10” woofer with a 2” voice coil and a 1” compression driver that combine to offer a frequency range of 70 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB) with a maximum SPL output of 121 dB.
The AIR12 features a 12” woofer with 2.5” voice coil and a 1.35” compression driver that combine to offer a frequency response of 60 Hz to 20 kHz with a maximum SPL output of 131 dB.
The AIR15 features a 15” woofer with 2.5” voice coil and a 1.35” compression driver that combine to offer a frequency response of 45 Hz to 20 kHz with a maximum SPL output of 132 dB.
The subwoofer design utilizes a single 1200-watt Class-D power amplifier to provide detailed bottom end with power, clarity, and punch. The rugged tour-grade birch enclosure is compact and lightweight, making these units well suited for mobile and installed applications. Each sub comes with an integrated castor kit, ground-stacking provisions, and ergonomic handles. The rear panel sports two combo XLR-1/4” inputs with direct outputs for connecting additional tops and subs. There is a single master volume controller and an integrated LCD to customize the on-board DSP which includes settings for Normal and Mo’Bass, which extends the low-end performance. The Locate DSP settings include Normal, Cardioid, and Endfire, which help direct the low end frequencies into the audience and away from the stage. A fully variable lowpass filter is available for setting the upper frequency limit and crossover point with dedicated presets for the AIR15, AIR12, and AIR10 full-range loudspeakers. Other features include alignment delay and polarity invert.
The AIR15S features a 15” woofer with a 3” voice coil and offers a frequency response of 35 to 160 HZ with a maximum SPL output of 132 dB.
The AIR18S features an 18” woofer with a 3” voice coil and offers a frequency response of 35 to 150 HZ with a maximum SPL output of 137 dB.
