Propellerhead has announced the release of Reason 10, which adds some exciting new features, instruments, and effects. There are now 16 premium instruments, 26 studio-grade effects and more than 6GB of sounds, loops, and samples to get you going. This latest update includes:
- Grain and Europa: two massive, brand new synthesizers
- Klang Tuned Percussion, Pangea World Instruments, Humana Vocal Ensemble: three new live-sounding organic instrument devices
- Radical Piano: a top-notch acoustic piano
- Synchronous: creative modulation device
- Loop Supply and Drum Supply: a multi Gigabyte infusion of cutting-edge drum loops and samples
Grain allows you to import any sample and explore the endless sonic variations of granular synthesis. The instrument provides an easy-to-use interface that features a wide selection of playback algorithms, highly flexible modulation, routing, and effects. The Europa Shapeshifting Synthesizer is a powerful wavetable synthesizer with a wide range of modulation options, spectral filtering, harmonics processing, and includes the ability to draw your own waveforms.
The Klang Tuned Percussion instrument features a collection of tuned percussion instruments, such as glockenspiel, music box, wineglass, and more. Klang is great for adding an organic dimension to electronic productions. The Pangea World instrument is a collection of pristine instruments from all corners of the world. Plucked, pumped, blown, or strummed, these instruments will add a variety of colors and textures to any style of music. The Human Vocal Ensemble provides choir and vocal sounds to any production. The instrument excels at adding depth and harmony to soundtracks and ballads.
Radical Piano pairs three basic pianos with technology to make an infinite number of your own. Based on a custom blend between sampling technology and physical modeling algorithms, the instrument affords anyone an unprecedented level of control to craft a realistic piano that 100% realistic. Loop Supply and Drum Supply is a multi-gigabyte injection of loops and drum samples for a wide variety of genres. There is a huge selection of patches for Reason’s Kong or Dr. Octo Rex loop player.
Synchronous Effects Modulator is an effects processor that can create quick sidechain effects or allows you to draw your own LFO curves to control filter, delay, reverb, distortion, and level. This powerful effects processor will help your sounds evolve, change, and loop over time.
All the original synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers are still included, as well as the modelled mixer based on the SSL9000K console. Reason 10 is now compatible with VST plug-ins, allowing for the deep integration of VST instruments and effects. You can drag & drop from the browser, use CV with your plug-ins, add players, and put them in Combinators with Reason’s own devices and Rack Extensions.
