Roland has announced three TD-17 V-Drum-series drum kits, which are designed to offer an accurate acoustic response with a true acoustic feel at an affordable price. The TD-17 modules utilize sounds from the flagship TD-50 and offer an array of built-in coaching functions to help track your technique, measure your progress, and increase your motivation. By using "Coach Mode" to support your daily exercise regime, you can warm up, develop your sense of groove, tempo, and timing—and even work on your stamina—all with a score that tells you how you're doing.
Choose from a library of 50 premium preset drum kits to match the tune and style you are playing, or customize preset drum kits to match your preferred drum sound. Additionally, you can adjust the ambience of each drum kit to match the venues where you perform, and import your own samples for a drum sound that matches the original recording.
The TD-17KVX is the flagship kit and includes the TD-17 module, a large PDX-12 snare drum, three PDX-8 toms, two CY-12C crash cymbals, a CY13R ride cymbal, a DK-10 kick drum, the VH-10 hi-hat, and the MDS-4KVX drum stand. The double-mesh snare allows you to develop stick control and correct playing technique, while the VH-10 hi-hat (when coupled with an optional hi-hat stand) provides natural motion and open/close detection. The module supports wireless Bluetooth for easy integration with practice software and music through your favorite portable device, phone, or tablet.
The TD-17KV kit features much of what the KVX offers, but utilizes a CY-5 hi-hat and a FD-9 hi-hat control pedal, as well as a single CY-8 crash, CY-8 ride, and the MDS-4V drum stand. This module also supports wireless Bluetooth for easy integration with practice software and music through your favorite portable device, phone, or tablet.
The TD-17KL is the most affordable kit and includes the TD-17L module, the PDX-8 snare drum, three PD-8A toms, CY-5 hi-hat, FD-9, a CY-8 crash cymbal, a CY-8 ride cymbal, a DK-10 kick drum, and the MDS-4V drum stand. The TD-17K-L does not support Bluetooth.
