The original Seaboard RISE 25, along with the Seaboard GRAND, pointed the way to an entirely new method of triggering software sounds with the introduction of keywaves. The instruments remodeled the traditional MIDI keyboard controller as a pressure-sensitive, continuous surface that responds to even the subtlest gestures. Four months after the release of the two-octave RISE 25, ROLI has added a four-octave version, the Seaboard RISE 49, expanding the line of controllers for producers and performers alike.
In addition to the included Equator software synthesizer, the RISE 49 offers new capabilities for recording, layering, and editing music, courtesy of the bundled Bitwig’s 8-Track digital audio workstation. A bespoke soft case comes with every unit and, with wireless functionality and excellent portability, the Seaboard RISE is perfect for creating music on the go. Using MIDI over Bluetooth, the RISE 49 becomes even more portable when paired with NOISE, a free downloadable app that lets music-makers work wirelessly with just a RISE and an iPhone.
Significant updates have been made to Equator that benefit RISE 49 creators and further expand the software’s sonic palette. More than one hundred new presets have been added, startup times are faster, and access is now available to velocity-sensitive multi-samples and tempo sync.
