Shure SLX Wireless Microphone System for Venues and Sound Reinforcement

0Share

New to B&H, the Shure SLX Series Wireless Microphone System (H19) provides the performance and reliability needed for use in venues and sound reinforcement. Technically, the SLX Series is not new, since the line has been available for some time; however, after the last round of FCC auctions, the H19 operates within the latest UHF frequency range of 542 to 572MHz. The system is available in up to 8 different bands, over a 24 MHz spectrum, and includes the SLX4 receiver, SLX1 bodypack transmitter, and WL93 lavalier microphone.

The SLX4 Receiver is a desktop or rack-mountable design with diversity antennas, allowing for dual antennas to compete for the strongest possible reception. Outputs include ¼" phone-line level and XLR microphone-level connectors. The comprehensive LCD provides feedback for Frequency, Group, and Channel information, as well as transmitter battery status, audio level, and more.

The SLX1 Transmitter is a battery-powered UHF bodypack capable of operating for up to 8 hours on two AA batteries. The unit features a 4-pin microphone input jack, which accommodates any Shure microphone featuring a TA4 connection. An infrared sensor allows the transmitter to sync frequency settings, remotely, with the receiver. Additionally, the unit offers an adjustable mic switch (0 to -10 dB), to allow for the connection of other devices, such as guitars, instruments, and microphones. The WL93 Lavalier Microphone features a frequency response of 50 Hz to 17 kHz and an omnidirectional pick-up pattern, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications.

The system offers automatic frequency selection and automatic transmitter setup for easy total setup. The approximate working range is up to 300'. A 5-segment LED audio meter ensures that the proper levels are maintained, while the backlit LCD is easy to read in low light. The frequency and power can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during critical performances. The all-metal rugged chassis is capable of withstanding the rigors of on-the-road wear and tear. Additional accessories included with the system are a short rackmount bar, a long rackmount bar, a link bar, an antenna extension cable, and a zippered bag.
