Universal Audio has announced a new line of UAD-2 Satellites offering the rich analog sound of UAD-2 powered plug-ins over USB 3.0 on Windows with support for VST, RTAS, and AAX 64 formats. The satellites utilize SHARC processors that are offered in Quad and Octo Core formats with a number of plug-in packages including: Quad Core, Quad Custom, Octo Core, Octo Custom, and Octo Ultimate 4.
The Core packages are bundled with the Analog Classics bundle, which includes the UA 610-B Preamp and EQ and Legacy editions of the LA-2A Classic Audio Leveler, 1176LN / 1176SE Classic Limiting Amplifier, Fairchild 670 Tube Limiter, Pultec Pro Equalizer, UA Precision Enhancer Hz, Precision Mix Rack Collection, and RealVerb Pro plug-ins. The Custom package includes the Analog Classics bundle and lets users “pick any 3” additional UAD plug-in titles within 45 days of registration. The Ultimate 4 package includes 83 UA-developed plug-ins up to and including UAD Software v8.4. The USB-3 SuperSpeed technology offers reduced plug-in latency when compared with FireWire 800.
