Attention all engineers and subjects in the world of high-profile live sound! Now at B&H, you can check out Audio-Technica’s versatile 5000 Series wireless audio components. With premium dual receivers, transmitters, and a variety of available microphones, the 5000 Series is well equipped to handle an array of scenarios, from celebrity speakers in a conference room to A-list performers on the big stage.

5000 Series

Every wireless audio system needs a receiver, and the 5000 Series has two third-generation, dual-receiver models to choose from—one utilizes balanced XLR outputs and a standard Ethernet connection, while the other includes a Dante output in addition to balanced XLR outs. Operating in the UHF spectrum with 144 MHz of tuning bandwidth in the DF1 band (470 to 608 MHz and 657 to 663 MHz), both True Diversity receivers incorporate dual-compander circuitry to process high and low frequencies separately. You can connect up to eight receivers via the antenna cascade outputs to feed as many as 16 channels from one pair of antennas! An automatic squelch function increases operating range, reduces interference, and simplifies troubleshooting. If unforeseen interference does occur, just swap to a backup frequency at the push of a button. For the demanding professional, remote monitoring and control are possible using software.

The 5000 Series transmitters are presented in two form factors, bodypack (ATW-T5201) and handheld (ATW-T5202). Both boast strong metal bodies, OLED screens with switchable views, programmability for enhanced workflow efficiency, and soft-touch controls. Thanks to selectable RF output power (2, 10, or 50 mW), you can optimize the system for ideal battery life while maintaining an appropriate operating range. The bodypack transmitter accepts cH-style cables or lavalier/headword microphones via Audio-Technica’s “cH” screw-down 4-pin connector. The handheld transmitter offers an industry-standard thread mount, which provides compatibility with a slew of mic capsules, including dynamic and condenser heads from Audio-Technica. Whether you get a bodypack or handheld transmitter, two frequency bands are available—DE1 (470 to 590 MHz) and EF2 (580 to 608 MHz, 657 to 663 MHz).

When it comes to microphones for the 5000 Series system, Audio-Technica presents plenty of options. Pick from subminiature lavaliers (the black cardioid AT898cH, or the omnidirectional AT899cH in black or beige), beige or black micro headworn mics (the cardioid BP894cH or the omnidirectional BP892cH), or the beige or black BP893cH omnidirectional micro ear set to plug into the 5000 Series bodypack transmitter. Capsules for ATW-T5202 handheld transmitter include three different cardioid condensers and two dynamics (cardioid and hypercardioid).
