This 4K model blends the portability of an action camera with the all-encompassing views of 360˚ video capture. The versatile ONE offers three operating modes: stand-alone, Bluetooth remote control, and direct control when attached to an Apple iOS smartphone (an Android version is on its way). The Insta360 ONE’s intriguing FreeCapture mode features the “shoot first, point later” ability to home in on the key moments of a spherical video. The Bullet Time mode enables you to frame yourself as the centerpiece of a 360˚ video as the camera floats above you, automatically erasing your selfie stick from your video, delivering a flying camera-like perspective. Additional ONE features include 24 MP stills, HDR support, time lapse, and six-axis image stabilization.
Use the ONE’s FreeCapture to cherry-pick angles from your spherical video and translate them into standard 1080p views. After shooting 360˚ video, connect the ONE to your iOS smartphone, then use the phone’s built-in gyroscope to “film” fixed-frame 1080p as you review your footage. A SmartTrack feature also uses an immersive view, this time to enable tracking of a chosen subject within the frame, again outputting a fixed-frame 1080p video.
Capture up to 240 fps video in Bullet Time mode as you rotate the ONE above and around you, employing a selfie stick or the included cable tether. After the support is automatically removed from the image, play back the resulting video at normal speed for a dramatic slow-motion effect.
The Insta360 ONE enables you to live-stream in 360˚ to Facebook/YouTube/Twitter/Periscope, perfect for sharing your latest adventures. Supporting 4K HDR video recording at up to 120 fps, the Insta360 ONE also captures 24MP still images, and features micro-SD-card recording. Its HDR (high dynamic range) ability is compatible with a wide range of illumination, revealing details in both dark and very bright areas of your image.
The Insta360 ONE includes a cable for use as a tether, and an 8GB micro-SD card to get you started recording. A time-lapse function can be used to create detailed captures of unfolding events. The Insta360 ONE has integrated 6-axis stabilization for smoothing out jitters and handheld jiggle, a crucial feature when recording with an action or drone camera. A Bluetooth connection supports camera control from your smartphone. Once you’ve captured your experience, the Insta360 ONE quickly outputs video via its lightning connection.
Available accessories include a waterproof case, a selfie stick (for Bullet Time mode), and mounts for attaching the camera to a helmet, a bike, or your wrist/arm. For stationary shots, the ¼"-20 mount on the camera’s bottom connects to a tripod or other support.
